EMBR - EMBR
While this deviates from what we, the ardent fans of the scene, often seek, the euphonies offered by the vocal queen of the hour sometimes subtly employs this sort of entrancing trick that beguiles us in a way that brings to mind subdued images of the golden sands we so vehemently crave, but not so much as to turn this into an unadulterated footslog across scorching terrains. However, "The Conflict," is tinged a bit more heavily with the hues of amber and gold we associate with the mystical arid stretches of land.
Solemnity abounds all over this record, and even for "doom" standards, this is insanely dismal, and that is an achievement and one of the primary reasons I enjoy this as much as I do, another one being the fact that this is quite "modern," for lack of better words, sounding and lacks the "bumpiness" that is all too commonly used by artists who play "this style of music." Due to the aforementioned alignment of realities, this has an impact that you seldom happen upon.
If agonizing had its own soundtrack, it would be something not too different from this.
