Ultra Death Cult - End Times Are Good Times
A demon child is spotted in a once verdant, but now languishing meadow. So there's life here after all, or did my eyes deceive me?
A sense of mystery is present throughout, perhaps indicative of the cult's influence. Is this their dominion? Are they watching us from afar, uninhibited by the now absent shrubs? One of my favorite aspects of this EP is its ability to, for lack of better words, keep you in the dark. The feeling that there's something going on across the expanse, something just slightly sinister, is constant, and this fine haze gives this its own distinct identity.
Monolithic riffs, powerful enough to topple a small building, are a lot of fun and sure to get you to bang your head. All the while, you hear a voice that almost quite literally seems to be lost and forced to wander in a most desolate place, appending to the mystique and strengthening the allure of the unknown.
End Times Are Good Times is home to an unsolvable mystery that'll pull you into oblivion and have you waiting for the answers, which may come around when the next release is available. If you're one of the few who can avoid being taken away by the mysterious entities, well, let's just say your car might've been unable to withstand the weightiness of these tunes! There's no getting out of here!
